Cool or Cheesy? YOU DECIDE!!!

Hey guys, I need a verdict.

I played one of these today at a local Guitar Center and was very pleasantly surprised. It's balanced, lightweight, and played well from the start. A good set-up and some fresh strings would really get it going! The bridge looks like a Tone Pros which is a nice bonus. The pickups are cheap, but that's a pickup swap away from perfect. That graphic has got me on the fence. It's kinda cool at first, but will it wear well? Not sure, I am equal parts COOL and CHEESY, so I thought I'd put it to a vote.

My alternative is the silver one they sell, but that's $500 more! It's got an ebony board which could be a good thing, but I'm not sure about the Dave Mustaine pickups. They might rock and then again they might not do it for me. It would seem like a waste if I ended up swapping them out. What say you guys? Is this "Freaking Sweet" or Cheese-D*ck"?

The guitar is cool as hell, but the graphics point to, what I consider, a well-known problem that most bands fortunately left behind with the 80's: Never, EVER let a metalhead design an album cover. Or graphics

It rather reminds me of the graphics series BC Rich ran some 10 years ago. it was a pretty cool idea to factory produce large runs of graphics thus allowing the entery-level or mid-level musician access to an isntrument with a bit of a custom look to it. Too bad they were all dungeons-and-dragonsesque-cheesy-as-hell.

Smegmalicious. I am embarrassed just looking at it. It's made for 10 year olds, obviously!

So...GO FOR IT!

But seriously, if it's that big of a bargain, just use the savings for some Krylon or ReRanch cans and go to town in any color you want. I vote for chrome or gold spray paint with a nice, thick clear coat over it.

I'm good with the graphic and explorer style guitar. I could never get past those goofy Dean headstocks.

Not big on graphic finishes, especially when it's just a big sticker under the clear coat... but someone who collects everything Megadeth might like it.

I'm good with the graphic and explorer style guitar. I could never get past those goofy Dean headstocks.

That one has the only non-goofy Dean headstock though.

Yeah, not diggin' it for that price. Graphics like that make a guitar look cheap IMO.

I like the guitar, itself, though.
