I could not afford being too crazy back in time and supplies /parts were limited where I grew up.
I guess the closest was that I wanted a humbucker so badly that I mounted two wimpy single coils on the actual guitar. I squeezed them into a humbucker frame somehow and wired them in series. For 'suspension' I used the parts of two ball pens, a pair of small rubber bands, a couple of pins and some tiny metal toy parts. It worked pretty fine.

I took my 1st guitar apart and spray painted that ****er like 8 times..... never even pulled the old paint off.
It was the ugliest thing you've ever seen.
