Garageband

POD Go > Scarlet 2i2 > Garageband

GarageBand is was bone dry. Everything from POD Go.

On my monitors it sounds like cocked wah sound. That is probably just how you have the POD set up.

Mids pushed on the Marshall.

BMT is 3.6/6/5

The pickups do not have that DiMarzio Cocked Wah thing at all, but the mids are very present.

On the Metallica clip (also an 800) it's BMT 2.9/3.2/8.6

I know that is how I record a real amp, dropping the bass to almost zero and getting proximity from mic.

But on a POD, maybe they intend you to have more bass? IDK, it sounds like its all mids.

Im listening on 8.5" B Truth active monitors. There is no bottom end.

I'm just using my main Live stage patch mostly. Intended to sound good through a passive 12" monitor/main, in a mix, with a bass/drums.


I'll do up a scoop scoop patch and bring some Thunder...

Does it have a LPF? Sometimes that will create a cocked wah. I'm guessing you don't hear it on your monitors and in a band mix it doesnt matter.

I have a Crunchlab in my Ibby V. But I have the blade towards the bridge. But it's a neck through guitar, so I wanted as much of those high harmonics as I can get. Mine is paired with the original D-Activator Neck. Great pickup, but much brighter than the Liquidfire.
The combo sounds great, yours I mean (well, mine also but never mind). The Crunchlab into either a clean boost or an overdrive into any fairly loud amp is going to sound just fine.

Just out of curiosity, what did you use for a monitor while recording? Headphones?

I am mainly a bridge player, 98% of the time. And I usually like a really wide range, so like a Distortion in the bridge and like an A2P in the neck. I usually can't find a bridge / neck combo that works for me for both Rhythm-Lead in both positions.

That said - I really like the way these these two play together. Very cohesive sound going from neck to bridge with both of them for both types of playing.

Is the liquifire better than the air norton? I didnt think the air norton was a good lead pickup.

I LOVE the Air Norton / Air Zone combo. Not a goto combo for metal, for me, at least. But a great overall all around guitar. Man...haven't played that combo in like forever.

I'll take Liquifire over the Air Norton though for neck leads. Depends on what you think is good. I like the clarity, cut, and highs of the LF, and it is sportier output IMO. All of which make me like it for neck leads.

FYI - I did a JB in the neck too.

I've been into CL/LF combo for a short while but, yeap, i like it a lot. Much better than i could remember;
