talking Dimarzio: if you want to OD an amp a lot get the Tone Zone. the TZ i found to be a lot more aggressive and crunchier than the Custom. if you want something that's a lot more aggressive than the Duncan Distortion... Evo all the way! plus the harmonics are EMG-like with the Evo's... it screaaaamms!

The TZ is not tight at all and not more aggressive than the Custom IMO.


I love Dimarzios but that pickup gets recommended for everything when it's really a niche pickup IMO....a very bassy and dark pickup.


I'd recommend the Super3 or SUper DIstortion over the TZ any day of the week if you want a pickup that's strong in bass and mids that's not muddy.

Which duncan pickup do you compare with the "TONY" Zone tightness of the bass?
i mean is there any comparable bass tightness pickup made by duncan ?
maybe a CC^?

I'd say it's impossible to get as untight as that dude :laugh2:

Well....I dont' think there's anything really comparable to the TZ....it's a niche pickup. Very specialized IMO.


The Invader might have a similar EQ...but I would imagine that it's voiced very different.
