they are decent pedals, i used one in the store before buying my whammy(which i later returned), Watch the PGS demo, it demo's it nicely and gives an overview of the features if you dont have a chance to try it out, i dont know for certain how well it reacts with chords, but andy may cover that in the video, if you are into weirder stuff as well might as well look at the whammy, i dont really have a use for a harmonizer thats why i returned it, just thought it was a creative tool to have, but if you need a harmonizer i would just go to a store and try them out, thats the only way to know for sure, and if you cant, order both (if youre interested in the whammy) and return the one you like less
PGS = ???
Any chance of a link, I'm curious
YOU DONT WATCH PGS VIDEOS? you need to take a serious look at how you've been auditioning pedals you cant try out, and also, for just harmonizing leads, the harmonist just work great, simple, small, try it out, you will most likely love it
Are PGS gear demos the best on these Interwebs? I think so.
Andy is a terrific presenter and one hell of a guitar player, too.
I don't really use the harmony modes... but I love the s-bend mode. It's a controlled whammy up/down effect.
I have to be careful not to over use that effect or the guys I play with might get sick of it, haha. Very fun, especially with delay.
As an aside, I recall thinking that I prefer the harmony modes when the pedal is placed after distortion, but thinking the s-bend mode sounds smoother and less harsh when the pedal is placed before distortion.
.
Wow, that is interesting! So for harmony modes, I'd benefit most from placing this in my effects loop then, right?
Have you tried rocking out a "natural" harmony? Instead of investing in a Harmonizer pedal, invest in a looper ala DL4, lay down the lead and harmonize over it.
