Custom shop guitar. Lindy Fralin PuPs

howdy, im currently ordering a custom shop from Warmoth, LP flat top, routed for soupbars, and was wondering if anyone had an opinion on the Lindy Fralin P90s vs the SD p90s.

Re: Custom shop guitar. Lindy Fralin PuPs

I can tell you that Lindy's -10/+5 P-90 set is my favorite set of P-90's I've ever used.

I've owned a few Gibson P-90 guitars, including a real '56 Les Paul and a few 50's LP Specials and Jr.s too. I like the Fralin set better than any of those vintage Gibson P-90's.

But I've only owned one set of Duncan P-90's and they came in my '95 Hamer Gold Top.

The Duncan's were wonderful for blues and boogie and had a great growly ZZ Top sort of blues/rock thing going for them. They were a mixed set, with one being a Duncan P-90 Custom and the other a Duncan P-90 Hot. I thought they were killer but that the Fralins, in the same guitar, were more versatile, the neck pickup clearer and the bridge pickup just as ballsy as the Duncan but more complex and lively.

I would imagine the Duncan Antiquity P-90's would at least match the quality of the Fralins...but I have not tried the Duncan Antiquity P-90.

The Lindy Fralin P90's are awesome. I have one in the bridge of my Ibanez Tallman. Great classic p90 tone, not a sour note in them. I tried duncan p90's and the only one I liked was the Custom. But the Custom sounds nothing like the Fralin Blues 90 I have.
