customs middle

a lot people say that custom needs more middle ,all i want to know that is it less than the jb (you may conceder this a stupid question but the place i live theres no dealer for seymour duncan or pro guitars to try them)so if it less middle then ather pickups where its sounds bad more i mean (with clean amp channel or distorted ,in riffs or solos??)

I hear less midrange in the Custom. I prefer the JB's clean & lead tone, but I like them equally for riffing, and I like the split tones equally, as well.
