Customshop "Angus Young" Out of Phase problem. Need Help.

I just received a used 2013 Seymour Duncan Custom Shop Angus Young set.
I found out that the cover was removed before, very poor solder mark.

And both pickups sounds great by them self but sound of of phase in the middle position. Of course I know out of phase sound.

I ask the seller, he claim that if it is out of phase that is how they came from the factory. But I do not quite believe.

However, I decide to keep the pickups.

Is there any way I can make the pickups in phase? Magnet flip or reverse the wire?

Please help...

Either will work just as well if its 4-conductor. If its a braided wire then magnet flip.

Take the one with the worst solder joints, open it, flip the mag 180°, close it, solder it again, this time well, and your problem is solved.

HTH,

What will not work? It's a simple magnet flip. It's exactly what will work. If the cover shows signs of having been removed then that's likely exactly what happened. Someone flipped the magnet.

Whew! I was trying to figure out how that wouldn't work..like maybe those particular pickups defied the magnetic laws or something. Let us know how the mag flip works out.

I find it very hard to believe that they came from the factory like that.

Well, they were used, so someone might have had a wiring scheme that wanted split inner & outer coils, so the magnet needed to be flipped to keep it humbucking in all positions.
