Danelectro U-2: P90 mod

I've got a Danelectro U-2 Re-issue (first ever guitar) that I've left alone for quite some time. I'd almost forgot I had it until I read about another member who'd fitted a P90 to his U-1. Does anybody know how I'd go about this? I guess I'd have to cut a bigger pickup hole to acommodate the P90. Any tips on this I'd be greatful for. Also any pickup reccommendations would be useful.

I guess that's me!!

I routed two pickup cavities, neck and bridge and changed the concentric pot for three standard pots. Volume for the neck and, volumen for bridge and general tone. The main problem about the P-90 it's that bridge pup screw separation it's too narrow for the wood bridge. Cause of this there is a drop in volumen in the E strings in the bridge pup. The neck works perfectly. This problem may be soved with this new intonable bridges, I duno.

I modded the neck to be RW/RP with the bridge which it's fine because I play mainly in the middle position.

I have a cheese clip if you are interested...

Yeah, I'd love to see some pictures of that to.

I'm pretty much a beginner in guitar mods (most exciting things I've dared attempt so far have been installing pickups. Though I did manage to reattach the neck of my brothers Epiphone LP100 with some level of success). So do you think this sort of thing would be beyond me?

The only other thing that's putting me off making the leap is wheather I might be ruining a guitar that might grow in value. A guy who owns a guitar shop near me is a Danelectro freak and he reckons that coz they don't make them anymore the guitars are gonna soar in value. I daren't tell him I'm thinking about installing some P90s incase he goes mental at me.
