I had one of these, when they first re-issued them. They sound amazingly good, considering what they're made of... Poplar neck w/aluminum nut, Masonite top and back (glorified cardboard) and on the old ones, whatever wood they had lying around, stapled together to make the frame. (The reissues are all poplar at least). I really liked mine, it sounded great and never warped even with our stupid humidity changes during the year (I had a fairly expensive Gretsch at the same time, the neck warped so badly it needed to be replaced).
