Re: Danelectro
I've got the Fab Echo and Chorus. Bear in mind I'm not the guy with the best ears around here but they sound good.
Sure, the echo is a slapback delay and the chorus won't get you a huge, lush sound (you can use it as a tremolo pedal as you can get it to open and close the volume).
They won't get you trippy/experimental sounds but they will add a tasteful amount of their effect to what you are playing.
Construction wise... it's plastic. The base is probably just pot metal but it fits well and comes off easy enough. No problem with the foot switch but at that price you can use it to hell and back and put it's guts on another chassis if it breaks down.
They devours batteries, I'm trying to find a multi pronged adapter to feed them but for now I just use a couple of wall warts, I wouldn't trust the batteries to last through a big show but that depends on how much you use the pedal.
I like them for what they are. Accessible pedals with decent effects. True bypass, metal housing, long effect times on modulation effects... That's not what these are about but I've seen people tampering with them on youtube to get those things so you can also invest in them if you want to take that road.
For me, they are perfect, they get me that tiny bit of effect and that is that.
