You lucky man you!!!!!! I thought i got a great deal on my 5150 half stack.... i paid $650canadian for the head and a bottom cab.... The USA/Canadian exchange rate is about the same these days...... Roughly anyways...

But $320!!!!! WOW!!!!

I've been keeping my eyes open for a second head as a back up.... i used to see them used for $500.... now they are selling for a lot more since EVH is no longer with Peavey...

I hate you... Tell ya what, I'll trade ya even with my classic 50...

I've been desprate to get a 5150 for ever and I'm hoping one pops up that I can trade my classic 50 in on.

or do what i did.... a have a 5150 and a C50.... i use the c50 as my clean channel and the 5150 for the lead and rythym crunch.... it's cool to a/b between them... but i invested in a high quality switcher that does not have any noise..

Well well well... I found a nice 5150 combo for $450 around... (And if one of you people buy it out from under me you'll be ****ting teeth.:laugh2: )

With some budget arrangements I can swing it, and keep the classic 50. Just have to unload the vox.

edit: ****... Already sold.

That is a GREAT score. And a GREAT pawnshop. Whatever you do, don't tell anyone about that pawnshop. (black out the address on the receipt). At the rate you're going, with the strats and 5150, you should be there every other day!!!

It's amazing that the pawnshop owner isn't sitting on Ebay, like all the owners out here. I can't believe you got that whole halfstack for $340 out the door!
Just take it apart, glue down the tears, and lemon oil the whole thing and it'll look like new!

By the way, I didn't need that Silvertone or lapsteel sitting around, and cashed out of it one week later for 3 times what I paid.

Throw some GBs in that cab, and those amps REALLY sing (if you are looking for the "brown" type sound....)

And hmmm....a dual 6v6 equipped 5150...that would be a 2575 no?

Seriously....a dual 6v6 5150 would be a killer little amp (and prolly sound better...I prefer 6v6 breakup over 6l6)

Exactly. That made it even better than scoring both of them for what you did. The turnaround profit was great.

Hey about that 6V6 comment, I'm sorry I'm a tube noob, but from what I've been reading lately(actually, I've been living at Amptone.com), 6V6's are the lowest output tubes? I know I could use Yellowjackets to throw in 2 EL84's and have a 20-25 watt 5150, what would be necessary to run 6V6's? Or is that just not a viable option? BTW, I'm LOVING this amp! I've never had an amp with so much dirt!:smokin:

Yep. Never pass on a giveaway deal. Keep what you like, and sell what you don't need. I would have loved to keep the White lapsteel, but that Silvertone was a POS. I decided I'd rather have $1000.

Another $400 or so and you could talk your way in to an EJ Strat. They go for what, around $1600.00 street? Cash talks so I think $1400 out the door would do it. ;)
