Dean Boca 12 String

I had been going back and forth as to get one of them. When I saw they dropped them to 300 bucks I thought "What the hey" and I can always return it.

Dean hit a home run with these guitars, the fit and finish (cherryburst) is awesome, the neck feels great and best of all it plays and sounds awesome.

Does it sound like a Ric? NO.. it sounds like a Gibson ES-335/12 :27: Nothing wrong with that!!!!!

One volume, one tone and a 3 way switch.... if you have been thinking or looking but were wary of them, don't be. I had to order the case the next day!

You're just freaky!

When I asked what those six other guitars were, I picked up on this one, and thought, I'd like a thread on just that, because I'm such a 12 string fan, and here we are! Any pics? Is it strung conventionally or Ricke style, I'm guessing conventionally?

Just a stock pic from MF. I haven't taken any of it yet and need to do that for the insurance. It's strung like a Ric... it's a very good guitar for the money. Being a bolt on I was leary but the reviews were good and rarely do you see them for sale. That tells me something.

Sounds great. On the subject of unconventional, the 12-string neck of my double has a nut grove that is cut for both conventions. I hadn't spotted it until I re-strung and spotted the double ridge grooves. It technically should mean the guitar buzzes, but it doesn't.

Re: Dean Boca 12 String

If you are talking about the double neck in your avatar, that thing would break my back within an hour. (not saying it's a bad guitar, my back and shoulder just wouldn't take it anymore)

I dumped my Les Paul in favor of the chambered Gretsch 6128, I like it.

I only played a 12 string acoustically until this guitar. It's not "lush" like an acoustic but will nail an electric 12 string lead sound. It "picks" quite easily too.

'Tain't as heavy as it looks!

This is my first electric 12 too. It started as a requirement for an acoustic double but I got carried away when I saw it!
