I'd personally change those 2 DiMarzio SC's for a Hot Rails neck (pure shred!) & a Cool Rails body pickup.

But i did say in another thread that it'd be changed from that bridght red prototype & i think this looks awesome, it's a USA made so it's gonna have awesome build quality & no doubt it'll sound like a dream.

Great guitar for a great player!!!!!

Vinman pwns.

Re: Dean USA Vinnie Moore signature! (Pic & specs inside).

...the dumbest looking headstock I think I have seen on a production axe.

Re: Dean USA Vinnie Moore signature! (Pic & specs inside).

Looks alot better than I thought it would. Not my double bucker cup of tea but nice.
You sure are doin alot for Dean love on the forum rivera.

Re: Dean USA Vinnie Moore signature! (Pic & specs inside).

@ Skarekrough- Well they are intentionally competing with the Ibanez, Jackson, ESP's of the world so this is their "pointy" headstock. Lol.

I actualy love this headstock, but wouldn't have it on every guitar.

@ Redmist- I'd prefer a humbucker i the neck too, but i love the HOt Rails so i'd put that in the neck.

The only thing i dislike about Dean is their stupid "playboy" image. This guitar should kick ass though.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also this is QUILT maple, not flame like i said earlier. I had a brain fart. My apologies.

Re: Dean USA Vinnie Moore signature! (Pic & specs inside).

Seems like a watered down version of the Phil Collen Jackson sig... which is somewhat ironic, really.

I haven't given myself much chance to track down clips of Vinnie Moore in UFO - but I should probably do that sometime soon.

Re: Dean USA Vinnie Moore signature! (Pic & specs inside).

Vinnie is an awesome player, have yuou heard his solo stuff?

He is a shredder with musical ability, phrasing & doesnt just wank. Very unique in shred. I love his melodic playing!

Nah, man... Mind's Eye is the one I should get, yeah? I've been meaning to get my hands on that for a while, but I never really did - that and Shawn Lane's Powers of Ten.

Mind's Eye, Time Oddysey, Meltdown & The Maze are all awesome albums.

I'm a HUGE Lane fan, Powers of Ten is a great hard rock album. My favourite album is "Good People in Times of Evil" though.

Re: Dean USA Vinnie Moore signature! (Pic & specs inside).

there have been around a million guitars lately made in that light.
Doesnt do a thing for me. sorry.

The inlay is butt ugly and the headstock is something outta the batmobile. fugly.

IM mean who would want a big 'M' on their twelfth fret?? Here in Greece it wouldnt do so well as everyone would be refering it to the 'Malakas' guitar LOL!

Whatever. more power to him. Endorsements are just for money. its cool. its their job, they have to make money from it.

I like more ingenuity. Like Tom Andersons 'new' neck heel he has developed. that looks and seems cool. wonder how it sounds.

Re: Dean USA Vinnie Moore signature! (Pic & specs inside).

Same headstock there as the Mustaine sig; I guess that's the Dean "No, really, it's not a Jackson, trust us" headstock.

Re: Dean USA Vinnie Moore signature! (Pic & specs inside).

Terrible headstock, with the winged Dean logo. They should create another logo for that strat-style HS.

Re: Dean USA Vinnie Moore signature! (Pic & specs inside).

That headstock is on a number of sigs.

It looks more like the B.C.Rich headstock than a Jackson or Ibanez or ESP.

I think it's a beautiful guitar allround.

The ultimate fugly guitar is Brian May's imo.

Re: Dean USA Vinnie Moore signature! (Pic & specs inside).

I know why you guys all think the headstock is ugly. Isn't it the same shape as on a Cort superstrat? It says "I'm a Cort" to me.

Now the rest of the guitar says "I'm a first class made in USA shredder axe" to me.
It's really nice.

As for Vinnie's work, while albums like "Mind's Eye" kind of defined him as a shredder, I htink his playing got better over the years (as all of ours should). His early stuff was pure neo-classical shred, which I think is fine, but if you have one of those albums, listen for his vibrato. The last time I listened to "Mind's Eye" I noticed there wasn't any vibrato. Whenever he stopped playing fast and let one note sustain, it just sat there doing nothing.

I have to listen to "Out of Nowhere" again, but I'm sure his nuances on that and other more recent albums are far better. And he's become more diverse, recording more mainstream rock and funk tunes and not just all neo-classical shred.

Re: Dean USA Vinnie Moore signature! (Pic & specs inside).

I don't mind the headstock. It's not the most beautiful one I've ever seen, but truth be told, I think about 80% of headstocks look ugly as crap. And I can't imagine how horrid that guitar would look with the typical Dean 'V' headstock. Barf.

It just looks like a strat headstock to me, but with the "ball-end" cut off and made into a sharper PRS style cut.

I'm more abhorred that Dean has to slap together computer generated graphics to debut their signature guitars. Just build the d@mn thing.

The Maze is his best work allround IMO.

I can't wait for his new album to be released!

Looks like a Jackson PC-1. In black. meh

Get the Jackson!
