And before anyone shouts ''PEAVEY GRIND!!!11!!11!'', I know it might be my best bet :D

But any others out there, not too expensive? I could always save for a used Sandberg but... oh well :laugh2:

We don't have much used basses here in Finland so used ones can be a bit hard to find. :) Budget is somewhere around 500€.

Ibanez BTB basses are nice. Also, Spector Euro basses are amazing, though they might be harder to find.

Re: Decent 35'' 4-5 string basses, recommendations wanted!

Is there really anything wrong with an Ibanez SDR?

BTB is also something I'm considering, good one.

Ace: SR series seem to be 34'' scale length. Otherwise they would be great. Nice looks and all that...

If you have a little more leeway in your budget, a used Peavey Cirrus is amazing.

Feast your eyes on the Peavey Grind Bass 5 BXP NTB:

They can be had for about $200 used. Best bang for buck bass I've ever owned/played.

Haha, dude, read the op ;) But yeah, those are really good. Just thinking what other options I'd have. Sexy bottom pic, btw! :D

Didn't remember Cirrus at all. Have to check it out.

E: Damn, the Cirrus is nice looking. I'm seriously considering it now.

I did, I'm just saying these are far better than the new cheaper bolt on ones.

Warwick Streamer Stage 1 Broadneck.

Re: Decent 35'' 4-5 string basses, recommendations wanted!

Can that be had for 500 Euro?

No but my Streamer Pro M cost me less than that - even after buying some new hardware. (e. g. Bridge saddles, conventional nut.) Unfortunately, being a 34" scale four stringer, it does not count here.

I was going to say, if one could be found, I'd almost have to make one part of my stable...

Re: Decent 35'' 4-5 string basses, recommendations wanted!

I found out that MTD Kingston 5s are 35''. Those look seriously good.

Re: Decent 35'' 4-5 string basses, recommendations wanted!

I'm not aware of many basses with a 35" scale. I play Jazz Basses and StingRays, and they're all 34". Good Luck, and just because you said not to:

"Peavey Grind!!!11!!11!".

Well, nothing. 35'' just makes the low B stay clearer and tighter.

Peavey Cirrus BXP. My brother had the 5-string, and I actually JUST sold it on craigslist today for him for $300... lol

Makes sense. I don't keep track of bass specs, so the 1" difference doesn't register with me. I know short-scale/kiddie bass and "real" bass, that's about it.

Come to think of it, I don't even know what scale my Jackson basses are. Hmmm, something to do when I get home :P
