Well, these kind of Diamonds:
Especially when they're... DUN DUN DUN
SURF GREEN
Even the back plate screws are painted. CLASS
I seriously love Diamond pedals. I wish my Memory Lane Jr. was in surf green. Damn you Humbucker Music for making expensive items in my favorite color...
The Diamond is replacing my Cusack Tap a Whirl. The Cusack is an incredible unit, but WAAAY too much for my needs. I use like... two of the 24 wave forms. And some of its features annoy me at times - I never know what tap division I'm in, and the fade in option is irritating when I just want to pull the trem in for a few seconds.
The Diamond, on the other hand, is deceptively complex in its simplicity. You get four waveforms, accessible via the up only (handy for toggling with your foot on the fly) switch - sine, sharkfin, square, and chop. The knob on the right has three subdivions - quarter, eighth, triplet, and another mode that I can't remember exactly what beat is emphasized. It also has a chop mode which looks pretty cool from demos, but one of my favorite things is the Manual mode. When in this mode, the pedal does nothing... until you press the tap switch. Since it's a momentary switch, it only stays on as long as you're pressing it. You can use it to put trem only on a certain chord, for example... pretty damn cool.
Some other features I like are the built in volume control - really handy on a trem pedal. Additionally, holding down the tap switch will double the speed of the trem, but not instantly (unless you want it to) - it will ramp up or down to your new speed. Me gusta.
I REALLY want to try this thing out, because I love Diamond stuff, but my amp is acting up and I've no idea why. I'll be able to give a full report sometime this week though when I jam with some friends - I'll be using either a single channel Orange AD30 or a Soldano Avenger.
Oh and SURF GREEN FTW
