Yes, did a search.. Read the posts.. Putting up a new thread as most of the others were old.
You guys that have these, they still proving usable?? Sweetwater now has em for $49.99 and im considering snagging one if they are good tools. I def need something to lay down rhythm for me, as that is one big hurdle I have.. Been considering Beat Buddy too..

thanks for any input!!

Re: Digitech Trio

And how does it compare to a drum machine that I’m too lazy to learn how to program?

Re: Digitech Trio

Don't own one. Saw Jennifer Batten demo one. Not a good comparison for how oafs like us might turn out with it.

Re: Digitech Trio

Yeah, I have one. As an old oaf, it didn't work out too well. Haven't played mine in months.

You have to "teach" the pedal the progression you want, and it's not easy. One chord per four beats, or no faster than two beats. Any faster, and Trio adds "embellishments." Those "embellishments" do less to embellish and more simply to mess things up. The bass is all over the place. That might work for you; it didn't work for me.

I guess if I really knuckled down and learned to work it, it would be fine, so chalk this up to user error. But a lot of others have experienced the same frustrations.

Having said that, I hear good things about the newer Trio-plus.

Re: Digitech Trio

I have a feeling there will be a new Trio at NAMM, for how the current one is being blown out at $49.

kinda my thought too since they are selling em so cheap. hopefully they are fixing issue the that inkstained mentioned.

Re: Digitech Trio

I see a lot of them on the bay. I suspect a lot of people got them and too dumb/lazy to program it. Like I said Jen Batten threw down with it. But it does do what it says.
