way awesome man, in my experience i would say that the big reason why people bash the dimebucker is since they don't even hear what their guitars sound like unplugged, the unplugged sound could be bright, dark or middy, but if it isn't ballsy by itself then avoid the dimebucker, since that thing doesn't only has the balanced coils design from the bill lawrence l500 series, also keeps the hability to transduce part of the actual guitar tone instead of masking it, you can throw it in alder, maple, basswood, whatever, as long unplugged doesn't sounds thin
the second reason is people that has no idea how to dial an amp by ear and instead dial by eye, that barely works for any pickup, but for this, the invader, pearly and the hot rodded set dialing your tone must be done full by ear never eye
