DMT Time Capsule humbucker opinions?

I never heard of DMT pickups (made in USA by Dean Guitars) until this week. The inter web seems to claim that the "Time Capsule" humbucker is very similar to the Dimarzio Super Distortion.
There are few reviews. Some say it is awesome and some say it is horrible. All I want to know is does it sound as good as a Super D.
Anyone with actual firsthand experience with that pickup?

The Time Capsule bridge is indeed similar to a Super Distortion, but it isn't an exact match. The highs are a bit more brittle and biting than the Super D's and the output seemed slightly lower to me (could be due in part to the different pole pieces used), but the overall feel and voicing is in the ballpark.

You're seeing mixed reviews because the Time Capsule can be somewhat picky about the guitar it gels with and its classic rock intent doesn't leave it with that "modern" articulation that today's heavier styles tend to require.

Still, those that favor the Time Capsule tend to really like it.

Plus, if you're not picky about color, you can grab a brand new one in white for $30 shipped on eBay from 8th St Music and try it out yourself!

I live down the street from the HQ. Here in Tampa there is Dean stuff everywhere. I have seven of them (All except one loaded w/ Duncan).

The Dean Pickup guy Pat Baker is a student and fan of the masters - yet brings his own thing to it. The Baker Act, for example is their balls-to-the-wall full on distortion model. But it isn't a SuperD or a Duncan D. But it is a very cool pickup.

I have a Cadillac with DMT's in it. Great all around pickups. For example, a description I have heard there is the bridge is a JB with all the things you'd like fixed. Not sure if that's true, but I like them enough to not go and replace them.

Time Capsules, Nostalgia, etc....they all have their thing. Early Dean's came with SuperDistortions.

Thank you, that is exactly what I needed to know. ( and that white pick up on the eBay is exactly WHY I needed to know!)
