Does fret board color impact your playing?

Re: Does fret board color impact your playing?

I sometimes travel across the world when i play.

And yes the colour changes things.

that thing needs a pickup ring.

Re: Does fret board color impact your playing?

I've never thought about this before, however as I have all rosewood-board guitars I have no excuse for the rubbish created by my clubby fingers! :)

No, but the inlay does if it’s blue!!!

Not so much unless it's maple and really if it is finished maple. I just can't seem to play them.

Re: Does fret board color impact your playing?

All things that has a tonal impact influence my playing, and IMO the board has a big tonal impact. (relatively-speaking)

As for the board's color or inlays affecting my playing?; No not at all.
I only look at the side-marker dots. Looking at the board itself always resulted in hanging my head over in bad posture. About 12 years ago I intentionally started buying guitars with blank boards (no inlays). It didn't take long to adapt, and overall it's been a big help to my already kranked neck and to my comfort level when switching between different models.

Bump in attempt to find out who owns/built that atlas/map guitar that kramersteen posted above. (?)

Is it standard x2n at the bridge?

I know that kramersteen owns and built it, but I’m not sure what he has in there for a pickup.

Is there an advantage from maple to rosewood? Or any other material for that matter. Yes, I'm a noob.

Damn right!

If your bassist is too much of a burnout to remember the songs, make SURE that your rhythm guitarist:

1) plays rosewood if white or pale asian
2) plays maple if black or brown
