Does Using Pedals Without a Power Supply Damage Pedals?

I heard that using pedals without using a power supply (just using their individual adapters into a multi plug) can damage pedals. Is it true?

Whoever told you that is sorely mistaken.

Make sure that you keep the total mA of your pedals below the rated amperage of your supply though, or you might cause overheating and failure of your wall wart.

And if you would use some kind of snake (like this) beware of watching the polarity. Mixing in some old germanium fuzzes for instance can give you some trouble... But when using all separated adapters there should be no problems at all. What can happen though is that one of the (poorer quality) adapters gives you some noise, especially this switching (class D) PSU's, they can sometimes dump some more (HF) noise onto the ground of your pedal causing noisy guitar. They are nice, small and popular though, and often are just fine.

If the battery leaks it could damage the battery area and terminals

But no
