Apparently prosecuting patents pays too well. Brisk, there is an old American tradition that states if you have a good job in VA/DC that allows you too much excess money, you must send it to North Carolina. This was part of the settlement from the war between the states.

Cool! Going into the RI eh? I'd like to know what that sounds like. I got this guitar off of e-bay recently and it completely was modded with 5-way and always-on toggle for the bridge. Couldn't figure out what the bridge was but was fascinated by the black gunk on the poles. Then I got a brochure and saw the pics of the antiquity. When I went over to the plant to pick up a custom (living in Santa Barbara is so convenient) I took the guitar and MJ confirmed that it was indeed an Antiquity. Great sounding pickup. Please report back on that mod because I have a '52 RI that I haven't messed with.

52RI has ton of mojo to begin with. It feels like a real tele, plays like a real tele and sounds like a real tele. It really doesn't need new pickups IMO, but somehow I feel that I am obliged to try antiquities since Seymour is a tele guy and he should know something about tele pickups. I will let ya know,
