Eventually I want a guitar with the Masonic emblem on the twelfth fret, and the working tools, sun, and moon on the odd numbered frets.

Luke

That's a really cool idea! I hope you get to build it someday.

Re: Dots, Blocks or whatevers?

For the record, I voted dot, because that's what I'm used to - blocks etc look cool, but I find them hard to play with.

Re: Dots, Blocks or whatevers?

I like how they did the Ibanez S520Z just some slashes at the 12th fret.

Looks so clean.

And I want to see a pic of that super evil BC Rich.

well,i already have it for some time now. It cost me lots of money and a year and 3 months of waiting time(mainly due to the exotic wood combination). The 666 is on the first fret, the text on 12th(like the model on ESPs) and the pentagrams are in the places regular dots would be.I had it made with a stage-show-off guitar in mind and i completely succeded in it.
Now I need pics! PM 'em to me or send 'em to kacrules@hotmail.com

and my flames and iron crosses on the twistedcaster

and plain old dots

but i think my favorite is nothing at all on the board, just side dots!

Re: Dots, Blocks or whatevers?

I usually like dots, though I'm thinking a simple ring inlay would be pretty cool...

Re: Dots, Blocks or whatevers?

sharkies on a jackson, none at all, or something that sets you apart('seven' inlays on micks custom RGT2020 is a good example(see avatar))

Re: Dots, Blocks or whatevers?

I like guitars without any inlays, but I don't have any yet.

HOLY CRAP ! ! ! are they stock or are they custom?

I WANT THEM ! ! !

they are stock. schecter did a limited run of the C-1 model called the XXX (hence the strippers lol) for guitar center. they pop up now and again on ebay (search schecter XXX) it's a killer guitar, it's one of my main guitars actually, i just love the thing now that it has an older JBJ in the bridge!! the stock duncan designed PUs weren't too bad either. good buy for the money with grover tuners and tonepros hardware along with a push pull coil split.

Further to the thread in the "Off Topic" room, I thought we'd see exacly what everyone thinks about this. The question is - what do you prefer, inlay-wise, on your electric guitar? And why? If you had a dream axe, what would it have?

Discuss!

Stop! Thief!!! lol

And to add insult to injury, you stuck a freakin' poll on the thing. I hope that you're proud of yourself, young man...lol

Re: Dots, Blocks or whatevers?

it doesnt really matter to me. all my guitars have just dots (but that has more to do with me not being able to afford a guitar with fancy inlays)

Re: Dots, Blocks or whatevers?

I like the inlays on my H-207 the best, they're tiny blocks at the top of the neck, easier to see than dots and much better looking, also not gaudy like blocks or other.
