Dream Guitars...what's yours?

Re: Dream Guitars...what's yours?

Some beautiful selections in the thread. As to the "Custom/Parts" Build comments...I fall into that category myself simply because I've always enjoyed scouring for parts and getting it all together to see how successful the outcome is in creating a great sounding and playing instrument...hence the number of guitars that have passed through my hands in the last 15 years.

Re: Dream Guitars...what's yours?

A red 63/64 Small block ES-335. For me that is the most beautiful guitar, and the tone is money.

Problem is I cannot stand the way they "hang" or sit on the body. I find them very uncomfortable. That's why I went back to singlecuts. I just can't get used to the feel. And a 339 looks absolutely goofy to me.

So, I'd probably take a Les Paul-ish thing. R8 lemonburst or a McCarty Singlecut in faded mccartyburst.

+1 for no dream guitar.

I accept whatever makes the noise that I require at the present moment.

I've had my eye on one of these for a while...

Hard to say, though, that it's my "dream guitar." I'm pretty sure I'd still suffer from GAS even after getting one!

[snip] or an Yngwie Strat.

I've wanted an Yngwie strat for many years. Finally picked one up from my buddy's music store a few weeks ago at a ridiculously low price (he took it in on trade and gave it to me for his cost).

But strangely enough, I've only played it once or twice since I've had it. And that's because I just picked-up my third Tom Anderson strat and they really are my dream guitars. Have never been happier with guitars (especially strats) than I am with these. In my opinion... hands-down the best strats (if not electric guitars) made.
