Dream Rigs, Arena Style

Re: Dream Rigs, Arena Style

Well well... dont want to be a :14: ... but I'm going to play in a 4500 seats arena in 2 weeks... :32: :cool2: :cool3:

Yes... with all our stuff taken care by roadies and techs. The producer dont want us to take any risks of hurting ourselves. Im way too excited. I'll surely pee on myself that week ! :laugh2: :laugh2:

But ok, if I had the dough... that'd be some Hiwatt heads and cabs, Les Paul Customs, modern Strat, and surely some cool efx, but I'm not a fan of huge pedalboards... keep it simple!

Re: Dream Rigs, Arena Style

Electric Guitars: My EC Strats, My LP(Standard) My 335. and maybe a Telecaster in Open "D" for slide
Amps: Marshall Plexi (2) Fender Twin (2) Dumbles(2) all available from a switching system. Each Amp would be set up for different sounds. Clean, dirty Etc. I would also have delay and chorus set up to run through each amp set (all accessed from a pedal board). And I would have a couple of acoustic guitars set up in different tunings for certain things as well. I would have a Santa Cruz Dreadnaught set up in open "D", a Santa Cruz OM set up in standard
A wood Dobro in Open "G".and a Metal Tricone set up in open "D"

Mincer said:
HUGE MIDI BOARD for each amp
i think thats enough for my rig

Actually, you'd only need a small midi board to control all of the amps...thats what midi does..[/QUOTE]

but i want each button to go to each channel with a desired effect from the eventide harmonizer im gonna add right now, and the TC Electronics G force i just added :laugh2:

Re: Dream Rigs, Arena Style

i'd like to add 15 eventide harmonizers to my list, as well as a bunch of soldano rackmountable preamps. and i'd also like to ad 20 mesa boogie triaxis preamps and a bunch of power amps.
is it too much

Re: Dream Rigs, Arena Style

3 Crate Blue Voodoo fullstacks and a vox ac120 for clean channel shiz. Gibson Voodoo les paul and an Ibanez Jetking 1. thats about it...im a simple man. oh and a Origianl crybaby wah.

Re: Dream Rigs, Arena Style

I'd just go woth one (maybe two) of everything, then if i change my mind... no problem, saves lots of typing too!

Re: Dream Rigs, Arena Style

Sorry to bump up a waaay old topic, it's just too interesting to pass up.

Guitars (all strung with GHS ZW Boomers unless noted)
=====
Gibson Les Paul Custom (a.k.a. #1):
Black finish, gold hardware. One black pickup ring for the neck, the pickup ring for the bridge in gold. EMG 85b/60n pickup combination, 2 volume controls, 1 master tone control, and the other tone control would be replaced with an EMG EXG unit. Tuned to Standard D.

Gibson Les Paul Custom (a.k.a. #2)
White finish, gold hardware. Same as above, except the neck pickup ring would be white. Same electronics as above. Tuned to Drop C (CGCFAD).

Gibson Les Paul Baritone (a.k.a. Brownfooter)
Silver finish, black hardware. Same as above, except the neck pickup ring would be black, bridge would be silver. Same electronics as above. Tuned to Standard B. Strung with GHS ZW-LO.

Dean ML (a.k.a. Artillery Strike)
Camo finish, black and silver hardware. Black Tune-O-Matic bridge, black metal knobs, with silver tuners. Seymour Duncan SH-13b/SH-2n combination, 2 volume controls, 1 master tone control. Tuned to Drop A (AGCFAD). Strung with GHS ZW-LO.

Gibson Korina Flying V (a.k.a. Goldy)
Natural Korina finish, silver hardware. Tune-O-Matic bridge. Seymour Duncan SH-8b/SH-6n combination. 2 volume controls, 1 master tone control. Tuned to Standard D, also.

Pedals (all cables are Monster cables)
=====
Boss TU-2
Tech21 Double Drive
Dunlop Crybaby From Hell
B.Y.O.C. Phase 90 clone
Dunlop Rotovibe
Boss OC-3
Snarling Dogs Crossroads A/B Box

Amps (w/ blue jewels and some 6550's in the power section)
=====
Crate Blue Voodoo BV120 w/ 20 BV 4x12 cabs, and 20 2x15 cabs (solo amp)
Marshall JCM 800 w/ 20 1960AV cabs (rhythm amp)

And that would probably be my set-up. The amps section may seem outrageous with the cabs, but hey, we're talking arenas, aren't we? :laugh2:

Re: Dream Rigs, Arena Style

The only thing I think I would change out of my original rig would probably be replacing everything that has the word "Reissue" in it with an original.

But even then I'm not sure how I'd feel about taking a 65' Deluxe Reverb on the road.

Re: Dream Rigs, Arena Style

Guitars: Jackson Soloist with Emgs

Effects:2 Line 6 Pod pros, rocktron gainiac preamp, gibson echoplex rack delay, g-major, boss gt8, boss ds-1.

Amps: Marshall Jcm 800, Mesa Dual Recto, soldano slo.

Re: Dream Rigs, Arena Style

HAH...I'm gonna be completely out of place in this picture...but here I go..if I'm playing a huge arena...

Strat, Les Paul, and a Gibson ES-330

into Ernie Ball Volume, Teese Wah, modded TS9, Boss 80's DS-1, Boss DM2 Analog Delay, Boss TU-2 tuner

and into a Vox AC30 and a Fender Tweed Bassman

That's it..no huge incredible rig...just a simple two amp, a few good effects, and great guitars type of rig :) I'm so close too! Just need the Tweed Bassman, Boss DM-2 analog Delay, and a Gibson ES-330...of course..all told, that's easily $2000-$3000 worth of gear just in missing stuff :)
