Dream strat incoming!

Re: Dream strat incoming!

You have a great ear for tone Living Dead!

Emulation through USB is the cleanest and shortest signal path for recording the essence of an electric guitar.

Damn Blix, I favorited that page of yours, the tones are PERFECT and the playing is top notch. I am highly impressed!

Thanks a lot.

yeah, but you have to remeber, its a shortcut. Lets not get all crazy with this.
I wouldnt personally even think of doing that.
I am a purist.

The Line 6 software is the perfect practice and quick tracking tool, but I do fire up the 5150 III about daily still. :)

Grats on the guitar!

Hope it works for you. I tried scalloped frets back in about '85, I just couldn't deal with it, but it sure works for Yngwie.

I agree his best playing and tones were in the '84-88 era, so I can sympathize with wanting one from back then. The sound he got on "far beyond the sun' is still one of the most 'vocal like' guitar tones I've ever heard. A lot of that is in his fingers/vibrato control I think.

I have used scalloped neck for years, so I'm quite used to them.
Blackmore and Yngwie were my big faves when I was younger so I got a bit influenced. :)

Yeah his tone and command of the instrument was amazing back then, and I agree it's mosly in the fingers :)

Much better shape then the lousy eBay pictures hinted at, great! :)
Pulled the neck, 88' indeed:

Very little fretwear, and a fantastic feeling 50's type profile, not an Ibby Wizard neck for sure. :)
.870" at 1st fret, about an inch at the 12th. Nice fat U.

Needs a better setup, but I'll take care of that shortly.
Have a little hangup on the B and E in the nut, Nut Sauce helped, but it needs a little smoothing me thinks.
Took off the picguard and desoldered those TBX tone controls from the circuit, got to have it Yngwie correct :)

Sounds awesome, more bottom end than the Peavey, more top end "zing" and a purer, sweeter tone overall, fantastic tone.

Couldn't be happier.:headbang:

Re: Dream strat incoming!

Very nice... i really like the YJM signature guitars in all their forms... i didn't know they came out in 88... thought it was more like 1990.... oddly my best strat is from 1988...

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the YJM Strat always come with a vintage style 6-screw trem? And the color looks just like the 94 Am Std I had, which was Midnight Wine, though this shade does seem a bit lighter. Not saying that's not legit. Just looks odd to me for an '88 YJM body. I only remember the yellow. It does look awesome.

It's as legit as can be, all YJM's had the 2-point American Standard bridge up to 1998. :)

Re: Dream strat incoming!

Those are among the strattiest Strats that ever strated on a Strat, if you can dig that.

Turn it up.

Re: Dream strat incoming!

I am totally jealous!

Weird though, I guess his first sigs didn't have the bullet truss rod. I wonder when and why he ended up preferring them.

Re: Dream strat incoming!

Thank you guys!

He ended up with the bullet truss rod to keep the current sig strats period correct I guess. And they are of course a lot more handy.

Re: Dream strat incoming!

Oh yeah, she is a beauty!

Ugh, almost impossible to find backing tracks online, all Yngwie stuff seem to be horrible midi tracks in regular tuning. Finally found something useful, a guy who had looped the intro to Crystal Ball, so at least I could use that for a short clip.

Re: Dream strat incoming!

Beautiful guitar. I've always secretly wanted one of those too. And an Antigua strat. And a 7-Up green strat. And...

Nice clips too. Surprised it's Pod stuffs.
