Dunlop 535Q Wah vs. Budda Wah

I've been using a Dunlop 535Q wah I bought a few weeks ago and it's just not living up to what I want. I can't seem to get the wah sweep I want out of it, no matter how much tweaking I do. Also, the non-true bypass switch on it (mine is an older one without true bypass) is changing my guitar tone too much.

So I saw that Musiciansfriend.com is selling the Budda wah at a cheaper price. I saw that is had true bypass, so I started to wonder about their wah pedals. How do they compare to Dunlop Crybaby wahs? How good of a sound do they get?

My advice to you would be to look into either the Teese Wizard Wah or the Teese RMC1....

My favorite vintage sounding wah(Other than my own modded 847s) is the Fulltone Clyde....Spend your money on the best wahs out there..The Buddah is ok,but the wahs I Mention are great wahs, very vocal, and have that ole 60's wah tone we all crave...I've had the chance to listen to many wahs lately and the fulltone and teese are "The Ones"..

I Mod my own wahs and I'm always tweaking and adding stuff to them...Right outta of the box,I Liked lew's Fulltone Deluxe Wah..You don't need Lew's model at $279 though if it's the "Jimi" wah you need...The Fulltone has more range,is built like a tank,I Liked the internal construction alot(Neat )...Look into the Clyde Standard from Fulltone....If you need a ballsy, modern strat wah(Specifically for the strat)then I Liked Curly's Teese RMC1...

I can do some cool stuff with the Vox 847 and the 848 providing we get the right inductor and pot...Once I come off my brief "Union Break",,,,LOL

Before you give up you your Dunlop, try adjusting the travel of the treadle (sprocket).
you can dial it closer to the treble side or bass side, to get it centered where you like it. If that doesn't do it, the wahs John mentioned are tops. I have a Budda Wah, which is actually designed by Budda Amps, but manufactured by Dunlop with the same casing, just purple. I like mine, and will sell it to anyone who wants it, but only because I want a Fulltone.

GJ....Why don't you upgrade your Buddah wah buddy? That's not a bad wah in it's stock form and I Like the looks of it..I'd help you with it..

cool, thanks for the info. i wouldnt even have known about these :smack: i play strats most of the time, but would like to use the wah with humbucker guitars too. usually play through specifically fender amps, so a good wah is important to me. maybe when/if i get the fulltone, ill shoot you up a message and you can mod it for me :cool3: will be a while.

once you are done your break of course. take as long as you want, really.

That's fine...Contact me whenever you want on it....Don't count out the Teese Wizard Wah or the Standard Fulltone Clyde wah with your decisions..
