Dyin' for some new head

I've been playing two amps live, Been borrowing amps off of whomever has the dirt amp amongst other bands we play with. Problem is, I have a Mesa mark IV 85w, and a blackstar ht-5h. I need something a little more muscular in place of blackstar. Was lookin at the Randall diavlo series, either rd20h or the rd45h. As far as I know, they're not selectable for lower wattage. The blackstar is super ok for my bedroom, but I'd prob have to sell it in order to fund the newness.

Ideally I'd get a 5150 III 50w, but wallet is not allowing it at the moment.

I do have that old school gk 250 thing, but wasn't really feeling it when I plugged it into a 1x12

I don't need clean channel, anything I'm missing at 500 price point and at least 20 watts?

Thank you sirs and/or madams.

If you don't need the clean channel, check out the Orange Dark terror. Sounds great. power switchable between 15 and 7W.

It's not a 20 watter, but the difference between a 15W and a 20W is really negligible. It's still plenty loud for gigging.

DUDE, so far after 2 videos, i am feeling the fawk out of it. little out of my price range, but seems right up my alley.

I absolutrly love my Dark Terror. I hated it the first few times i played it. I think my issue was not dialing it in properly. I also feel you need an EQ and OD of sorts with this amp. I run an OD in the front and an EQ in the loop and its an amazing rock crunch and heavy rock drive sound. Very happy with mine. I also bought mine used. Guy played it once or twice. I paid $375.

I really liked the Orange OR 15 and Traynor Darkhorse and Ironhorse (15 watt and 40 watt heads)

not a lot of headroom with any of those mentioned above but they all sounded great when pushed with pedals for even more saturation

Re: Dyin' for some new head

you know i was thinking that, but that thing is huge in size, trying to get something that would fit on top of a mesa thiele.

I just looked at that and they don't seem too far apart. The 1x12" comes up at 18 7/8" wide, with the 20H at 20 1/3". With the inset the feet will have inside the 20H's max width, I'm thinking it would sit on the Thiele quite comfortably.

Oh I def plan on using an OD in front and MXR 10-band in the loop. Love that sh!t. 375 is a helluva nice deal.

Hmm I'll check out those traynors on YouTube

You know what sucks is that I saw one locally on CL for kinda cheap. This was of course before my brain went into "I need more sh!t" mode.
