EarCandy BuzzBomb: Colours?

Well it looks like I'll definitely be ordering a BuzzBomb 2x12 to go with my Peavey Triple XXX that's on the way; I've already talked with Tim at EarCandy, and like some of you have said he's really awesome and works with you to make sure you get what you want. The hard part is deciding which colours appeal to me. I wanted the cab to have a full steel grill, but I might change my mind depending on the colour that appeals most.

I'm not really a fan of the more uncommon colours, so I would stay away from the Seafoam Green and the 70's Purple. However I'm somewhat open to the others

My first choice was going to be an all black cab with chrome corners, as I thought it would accent the Triple XXX's black/silver scheme pretty well. But then I realized I liked the Acid Peel Orange and the Purity White... the Diablo Swirl caught my eye too, so I'm having a tough time picking what I want, as I don't want to get a cab that completely clashes with the head. I thought I might as well get some input from people here and see what your opinions were. So, what colour should I go for?

Re: EarCandy BuzzBomb: Colours?

Straight black, IMO.

Unless, of course, you had a matching head or something. Mesa does some insane stuff with that, and I think a lot of the more unorthodox colors look great when matched up. Otherwise, straight black.

Re: EarCandy BuzzBomb: Colours?

My Buzzbomb is all black with the 3/4 steel grille and black dyed mah. front. I like it alot. If your going to go with black, get the front dyed in a color that you like. Blue is always nice. PM me if you want some pics.

Re: EarCandy BuzzBomb: Colours?

Just looked at the Earcandy website and it looks like Tim is bringing the diamond plate front back so I think you have your answer!

Re: EarCandy BuzzBomb: Colours?

I got mine in black with the Fender/MM cloth grille but a black cloth grille might look better with your setup.

True, that does look pretty sweet, but it's not in the cart system yet so I have no idea what it would cost. Would you recommed the Diamond Plate with Circle speaker grills, or the Diamond Plate with a full steel grill and no circle grills? I'm guessing the former.

Re: EarCandy BuzzBomb: Colours?

One other thing... I was thinking I might get 2 Celestion V30's, but I read on the site that the G12T75 is used in Marshall cabs and is "an industry standard for metal". I will be playing predominantly metal, but also some nice clean jazz-type stuff, so would you guys recommend going with dual V30's or with one V30 and one G12T75?

Re: EarCandy BuzzBomb: Colours?

I prefer the V30's 10fold. The G12t75's tend to be more scooped and harsh. Marshalls are the industry standard because of how cheap/available/tough they are, but I've only heard a couple tones I actually like produced with them.

Why not tell Tim what you're looking for and ask him for a suggestion? After all, who else would have a better idea of how to achieve a certain tone with a BuzzBomb?

If it were me, I would get the full grill. As for speakers, I ordered mine with Emn. GB12s and did'nt care for them too much so I replaced them with Cel. G12k100s(speakers that come in the Marshall Mode 4 cabs) and I like them alot. I guess I'm one of very few people that like the g12t (have them in my Marshall 4x12) and I emailed celestion that I wanted the same basic sound structure as the G12t with a bit more mids and tighter bass. They told me about the g12k100 so I ordered 2 and like them very much. I like metal, classic, new, old, you name it rock and these cover pretty well.
