EH hum debugger

Re: EH hum debugger

Is it more or less effective considering where you place it? Is it more effective before the amp, or in the FX loop?

Re: EH hum debugger

i just tried it in the store but i cranked the gain on a marshall, grabbed a strat, and was hum free the whole time, on the low setting at that

as far as placement, well, that always has something to do with it

but i swear it's like the perfect gate. It does the job of any other noise gate but without raping your tone & not calling it the next day.

Re: EH hum debugger

From what the EH guy told me at NAMM, it's not a gate. I actually picked one up there, but haven't plugged it in yet. I'll post as soon as I do.

Re: EH hum debugger

Partially aside, if its as fussy as my Double Muff about where in the chain it should be...you must obey it's preference! My Dmuff, sounds thin, tinny bright unless it's directly after the guitar. Anything with a buffer (boss) ahead of it and it's useless. But placed where it wants to be it's yum! Is this an EH thing or what am i missing.

Re: EH hum debugger

have you tried it at higher volumes? I remember The_Chris had his and it sounded good at low volumes, but at higher volumes it made things sound "metallic." definately let me know, cause I'm interested in hearing some more opinions of this beast.

+1

I thought there was a thread about this started by The_Chris. But when he discovered that the pedal was doing nasty things to his tone at high volume, he deleted the thread. Anyone else remember?
