I'd be more inclined to listen to someone who simply described which frequencies something boosted or cut, however general the description, than to someone who simply declares that the thing boosts or cuts "all the wrong frequencies."

A good description of maybe 65 percent of all EH pedals. (But I love EH. Seriously.)

Yeah, the other 45% is pretty awesome.

But the 65% really suck sometimes.

Either my ears disagree with everyone here, or everyone here didn't try it with their amp dimed. It makes for a glorious clear, but saturated tone when you have your power tubes pushed. What I think about it is posted above. It's more of a bass cut than a treble boost. It's up to you to figure out how to use that effectively and how not to. "Not usefeul" for a lot of things, sure. But it is far from downright awful, terrible, horrible, useless, etc.
