Got the Toy. Love it. Got it cheap so I can't say it's fair fight to the Carbon Copy or something.
I dislike that the modulation is usually crooked on them out of the box, but that's a 2 minute fix with a screwdriver.
I also like that it boosts the overall volume a bit too, so it acts as a solo boost/delay.
A great pedal!

The mod on the Memory Toy sounds like total **** until you tweak it. It is way too strong and tends to overwhelm the echoes.
I love my Memory Man w/ Hazarai. It's a pretty versatile pedal and I tend to use it for a number of different things. The presets are great and prove to be an important asset in switching delay and decay speeds on the fly. It's nice to have the tap tempo on board and a decent looper for quirky garbage noises.
I sold my Memory Toy and kept my Carbon Copy. My Memory Man w/ Hazarai has had quite a bit of use.

Yeah, the Hazarai looks ****ing awesome. It's on my wishlist for a time when I'm not totally broke.
That's good to know about the modulation. I'm not a big fan of modulated delay and I've got a modulated preset on my DD-20, so I don't think I'd be using that setting very often anyway.

I have a memory man w/ hazarai. One of the very few pedals I actually use.
Run straight through, it's pretty normal. But it's a stereo pedal, so if you use a patch cable to loop it through itself again, it just goes nuts. Huge delay times, self modulation like crazy. Pretty wild pedal and I only scratch the surface with it.

You know, I thought for a long time that the EHX delay was what I was looking for, and I tried really, really, really hard to like the line. I think they have a charm, in the sense that they produce a very distinct sound, but for my dollar, there are delay pedals out there that just give off more a more polishes and pleasing sound. I personally own a Carbon Copy, but I think I'd select an AquaPuss over the EHX. Question of taste I know, but I just feel like the EHX offering is rougher around the edges than the competition (and yes, I know that sounds weird when talking about delay).

I think that might be my issue with some of these EHX delays. They are just nuts, lol. Sorta in the same way you really need to figure out a lot of EHX pedals, I felt there was only a few very precise settings I could use tastefully without sounding like I was out in the deep end.

I've owned to many delay pedals and devices to remember them all: Echoplex, Roland, Line 6 DL4, etc.
My Deluxe Memory Man is my favorite of them all. If it quit working I'd get another one.
Love the way I can use it to boost my Stratocaster's signal and overdrive my amp a little and to me, the DMM has a very organic sound. Sold my Line 6 DL4 to buy the DMM and I'd do that again in a heart beat - no regrets at all.

The memory boy is where I go for longer delays and experimenting with fun & bizarro tweaks. The one trick I picked up on the memory boy is that if you stuff a jack (like a 1/8" headphone adapter) into the expression pedal jack for some reason the delay time lengthens.

Got a DMMTT and a Boy with TT.
The Boy is your usual analouge funky lo-fi thing with extra crazy modulation if you want.
My Memory man with TT is about the coolest delay after the tape stuff....

I owned a DMM a few years ago and liked it. Then I went through a no-pedals phase and sold everything. When I rebuilt my pedal board I went with a CC and haven't missed a beat.
I'm thinking about getting the Memory Toy for my g/f for her fiddle. It's between that and the Joyo Analog.

Yep. She will be playing through a Mesa DC-5 as of tomorrow, she's got a crybaby and an EQ pedal, now she needs delay, and a boost. And probably a few other things that we haven't thought of yet.

Yep, along side a big box dmm. He's usually back and fourth between the carbon copy and a memory toy.
