emg 81 or 85 in bridge

hey, what would you reccomend? i played a dv8 the other day with emgs in it and it sounded awesome, so im thinkin about droppin a set into my sg. if i remember correctly the lettering on the neck was gold and the bridge was silver but idk.

silver = 81, gold = 85

My reccomendation = 85 in the bridge

BTW EMG's in a DV8 should be illegal! :cop:

DV8 with EMG's = Jeff Devildriver, and one of the guitarists from Napalm Death uses one as well ;).

I'd for an 85, for sure!

85, for sure. Much fuller, rounder and just plain sounds better in the bridge.

ok 85 in bridge. i'm a big fan of the JB and i really like a sharp sound with emphasis on the mids and highs. the 85 has more all around though, doesn't it? i want a tone thats really good for metal.

I too am a BIG fan of the JB, and if I had to choose I would put the 85 in the bridge.
If you have both, and don't like the 85 at first, just swap 'em.

But, if you really like the JB, why don't ya just put one of those in :dunno:

Any guitar that´s an outright ripoff of another one should be illegal, but that´s a different thread :D
