EMG 85 v 89 tone

Re: EMG 85 v 89 tone

The SLV is supposed to be a "vintage" SA.

FWIW, the SA's blend very well with the 85. I have that set in a Washburn Mercury along with a PA-2 Boost and it kills.

Re: EMG 85 v 89 tone

How does one wire something like a 89 or 81TW with the newer quick connect cables? I am just wondering how it will know whether the pickup is in split or full humbucking mode. My only experience is with EMG singles and 81s and 85s and have both red/white wired older EMGs as well as the newer quick connect types.

The SV is the EMG version of a vintage 59 strat pup. The SLV is the Lukather pup that conbines the SV pickup with the SA preamp, making it a hotter & fatter SV.

Yeah that's what I thought
They do talk it up about being alot louder & fatter to better match the
85 humbucker in the bridge.

I ordered the Set last night , I hope it sounds good in this guitar !

Yes, sorry. You can have all the credit for saying it first.

I'm sorry, I felt that you tried to correct me somehow and I tried to understand. English is not my first language and I'm not that fluent at it so I frequently kind of suck at understanding people.

I was just giving you a hard time ;) We posted the same idea, not a correction.
