EMG SWap

I have a Damian Elite that I'm pulling the emg's out of and replacing with the Pegasus and the Sentient, I'm trying to make this a more versatile guitar. Anyone tried this combo yet and if so what are your thoughs? Thanks up front.

Re: EMG SWap

SD says do. EMG says don't. :dunno:

The Quik Connect wiring harness format makes it easy to change active pickups without a complete re-wire. With the possible exception of +18v installations, either brand runs happily on the other brand's wiring loom.

The presence or absence of bridge grounding appears to make no discernible difference to the performance of the pickup and control systems.

Re: EMG SWap

Older wiring diagrams for the Blackouts didn't have a bridge ground. Actives don't usually require it because the battery ground takes that place. However, most stock active EMG and SD guitars I have seen in the last two years already have the bridge grounded. A good example is my 2013 ESP Eclipse-II that can stock with 81/60.

Bridge seems to be already grounded, guitar is 2 years old as well. Pots have been removed as well. I'm going to try and sell them as a complete set. I was just wondering if anyone else had this set up and what they thought of it compared to the actives.

Re: EMG SWap

The passive ground used by passive p'ups must NOT be used with active p'ups and electronics.
