Re: EMG without Cover -- Pics!
Doesn't mean it;s a good product.
Gibson doesn't make consistant or reliable products anymore and they price them like they're made of pure gold.
They live off of marketing and name recognition.
Yeah, they're in business because they offer a product people want.MikeS said:I guess the EMG bashing days are not over. Who cares how the pickup looks on the inside (a place that was never intended to be seen)? It's intended to sound good, not look good, so who cares?
Has the pickup broken as a result of it's construction? No! Therefore, this is not a build quality issue (why am I the first to realize this?!) This is merely an aesthetic issue. Any design professional (regardless of what they design) will tell you that if you can't see it, it will not be detailed to be pretty. It's detailed for functionality. Therefore, you have no right to make assumptions towards the build quality of this pickup simply because you find it aesthetically unpleasing.
That's my rant. I'm tired of the EMG (and other brand bashing) that's been going on around here the last many weeks. These companies are still in business today because they are obviously doing something right. All of your gripes are subjective in nature, and while your opinions are permitted, I do not believe that it's right to come here and openly bash another company solely on your subjective opinions. Grow up.
