EMG X pickups... anyone tried/use them?

Just picked-up an ESP Eclipse with the 81/60 combo wired at 18v. I do really love these pickups for metal, but I'm reading EMGs promo material for the X series pickups and it sounds like they might be better for cleans than the regular actives are. Anyone here have experience with the 81X, 60X, or 85X pickups... comparing them to the regulars?

the cleans on the 81X are quite usable for a high gain pickup...
