tak matsumoto is a well known guitarist and teacher in japan. he is currently playing for a group name b'z and tmg. afaik, he is the only asian who has his own signature model from gibson. that must say alot about him. anyways, information should be available here.
i have only seen pictures but the guitar looks hot!! ive played an epi elitest lp and it was a very nice guitar. i never plugged it in, but it felt nice. the tak model is the one that really caught my eye looking thru the catalog
thanks for the info dani, i had no idea who he was
no worries jeremy. tak is one amazing player. you should hear some of his stuff with b'z and tmg (tak matsumoto group) if you had the chance. and i do like his tak burst model. looks really good!
He did a guest spot with Steve Vai on one of Vai's songs from the Ultra Zone and they do a duel in the solo spots, trading off every 2 bars... i've listened to that song quite a few times and i swear to god I can't tell who's who!!!
I guess i should look into some of his other stuff.
I know the drummer in that band, Shane. I was trying to get him in my band, but then I realized the B'z are HUGE in Japan and he was getting paid bigtime.
I like the look of that Epiphone with the black binding and faux abalone inlays.
Looks better than the mustard striped Joe Perry disgrace. LOL
"You can also see his famous yellow tape - "RESTRICTED AREA - TOPLESS WOMEN ONLY - ACCESS ONLY IF YOU HAVE LEGS ALL THE WAY UP TO YOUR P****" - which doesn't make any sense at all, because if you think about it, every women has legs that reach her p****. (Actually the more I think about it, the more it confuses me. Perhaps it is a zen koan.) "
Looks prety good, but way too much cash for an epiphone! Needless to say the elitsit line is great regardless of price range and if you can afford it or not.
