Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro discontinued

Every year Epiphone fiddles with their lines. My guess is that it comes down to sales. Models that sell well continue to be made.

Musta been good? I guess

Epi has a tradition of walking a fine line of non-competition with Gibson products

Funny you say that because I have Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro with the exact same features as the Epi. There has been an Epi Trad Pro , Trad Pro 2, and Trad Pro 3 that matches with Gibson's models. The only difference electronic-wise is the pickups (Probuckers vs. Burstbuckers).

What makes the woods cheaper? Pretty sure they're using the same stuff (other than the fretboard, of course).

The pots on the new ones are CTS, aren't they?

Isn't the hardware the same too? Those locking Epiphone bridges.

Reaearch the woods. Really research, not manufacturer advertised specs.

No, the hardware is not the same.

Probuckers ARE nice, though.
