Re: ESP V Project
Sorry to heat, Mutt, But I`m sure they`ll find a good home
...One of the better representatives of the MIJ Ibanez LoPro Edge family for a bridge, if you absolutely must have a Floyd - miles better, way sturdier, far superior craftsmanship & machining, far better choice & implementation of alloys. AND: flat.
So what you're saying is either gut a 90s Ibeenhad or or wait months, possibly years for an Original Lo Pro Edge to pop up. Because EVERYTHING Ibanez has had Gotoh manufacture for them since them as "improved " has been a POS in comparison, each with at least one damning design flaw..
The Edge Pro being the best of the worst in this scenario, the primary design flaw there was the lack of versatility in spring choice due to the larger setscrew holes for the hold-down bar. On earlier edges it was very much possible to use 4 or 5 springs to get the feel you like and /or balance out heavy sterings, THe Edge Pro no longer has this essentialy capability, and therefore directly caused my immediate resale of a 2077XL as unusable, compared the the 1077XL which I only sold because I had no other choice. The ONLY difference in these guitars is the bridge, they are otherwise 100% identical. The bridge alone made the difference between "it`s a keeper "and "it`s a POS that limits my string choice to ultralight sets that no serious seven string baritone player would even consider."
Anything made by Schaller, Gotoh or ABM is equally high quality, and touting anything else as factually true displays a lack of in depth knowledge with teh different manuufacturers and designs, as well as displaying an obvious bias towards one manufacturer, and possibyl even some form of personal agenda...
Your assumption that the Ibanez Edge is the only low profile tremolo is equally as flawed, Schaller makes the Lo-Pro OFR as well as their own version, have for a VERY long time, on the order of 20 years, and both of these blow current Ibanez bridges out ot the water on every single relevant aspect of cosntrution, except that they aren`t available in cosmo black.
BTW, what exactly is your (obviously personal) problem with Poplar? It`s quite common in stringed musical instrument construction and has been used by just about every manufacturer. Just "because Ibanez doesn`t use it" doesn`t mean jack ****.
