Estranged from Guns N Roses(cover)

YEAAH another GNR cover from me, this time i used a backing track with drums and keyboards so all guitars i had to make and are doubled.
The clean parts are not too good , i think i must work on that, but im satisfied with the final result, and of course there is no voice so feel free to record it if you like!!
And also i NEED criticism and opinions please so tell me what you think

Not bad attempt, Vibrato needs work and timing of phrases bit sloppy have to be bang on for estranged was off double tracking is not tight enough. Keep at it you'll nail it better if you listen more closer to slash. You werent using a les paul were you?

thanks andy, i listened to the song again and agree with you , i think there are some timming problems in the solos, mainly in the first, so ill try to correct them on a future recording
about vibrato, i ve never had a good one so i think is practice, its hard for me specially to bend a note and do vibrato but im practicing that

I'm going to try not to hurt your feelings here, but you're asking for criticism. This is my favorite Guns N' Roses songs and one of my favorite songs period.

You have the general concept of the song and you're playing mostly the right notes, but the phrasing and feel is off. Slash doesn't really use excessive amounts of vibrato on the leads, most of the leadwork is very smooth. I think with more practice, you could definitely get the phrasing/timing a bit smoother and as long as you relax on the vibrato, you should pretty much nail it. Also, make sure the harmony lead lines are in sync because they sounded off throughout the song. Great tone on the recordings! What did you use?

Glad its your GNR favorite song, is one of my favorites also, i think the solo is off timming but havent heard other parts, or not noticed. ill check that again
for recording i used an epi standard, a little marshall mg15cd and a cheap mike

You made it great dude!!!I will not write the same things that has been written.You are getting better on every clip and that is very nice to hear.Many guitar players ,even EVH has big problems with the timing ,so try to "reherse" always with a rythm track or even metronome ,but the most important ,use your feet to keep your tempo!!!This is a big beginning of setting your timing right ,and if you have your own timing ,you will have never problems with double tracking!!!
So you can gain timing with these methods:
Use allways a rythm machine ,keyboard ,computer ,backing track or whatever to give you rythm and inspiration
Allways use your feet to keep your rythm.The best way is tapping both each "klick" another.left right is what i do.
Try to play "stomping" but slow riffs to gain more rythm.Phrasing slowly is mostly more complex ,so to begin small ,use "fat" , "chunky" but "slow" riffs.
BTW ,i liked your vibrato ,the only problem is ,it sounds like you are "forced" to make it.Try to relax and play with your feelings.You are not slash and thats good so!!!Be yourself.it will kepp you fresh and real.

About the timing, yeah i see clearly where the problem is but i think it was lazynes or something, the task of re recording some parts... but your advice always makes me improve in some way, vibrato with bending is something that im trying to learn so i guess it ll take time

Thanks dude, i think ive improved a little tone wise, and know a little better my amp and guitar, they are relatively new (5 months) but now im more used to them, however i just cant find a good tone for the intro of Sweet Child, ill keep trying
