Everything Axe wiring question: Super switch AND Push pull pot!

Hi,
I just got the everything axe set. I have a 5-way super switch for coil splitting in the 2 and 4 position. While looking up options I saw you can use a push pull to split all hums to singles.
Is there a way to merge these 2? So when it's down it splits 2 and 4 and when its up they are all split?

Just merge the two diagrams by adding the p/p switch to the first. When the p/p is up the pups will be split regardless of the position of the superswitch...the superswitch does not undo the grounding caused by the p/p. When the p/p is down, only the superswitch will determine any splits.

I don't want to hijack, but I have an Everything Axe set question as well. The sound of my 920D EA-loaded pickguard is really compressed and somewhat choked-sounding with high gain, particularly on the JB Jr.

How can I try to alleviate that?

That's just the nature of the beast when dealing with humbuckers compared to single coils, especially higher output pups like the JB. You can reduce that effect significantly by wiring the pup in parallel instead of the normal series.

Thanks, but it may be more than that.

None of my other humbuckers have this overly/almost-strangled compression issue. It's most evident when I'm on the JB Jr, and it's alleviated somewhat when I split the JB, but that lowers the output and thins the sound. Is this a problem with the EA set? Or with the JB Jr? The Lil 59 and Duckbucker sound alright.

I've gotten a bridge model Lil 59 and I'm going to replace the JB Jr. with it, but I was wondering if maybe I should replace some caps at the same time.

You don't have to replace your caps, that shouldn't affect the compression level. It might just be that you don't like the JB Jr, which does sound pretty compressed.

For some reason, and I don't know why, but I see that "choked, compressed sound" with all the single sized humbuckers (compared to their full-sized big brothers) that I've tried.

I hear that with the higher-output ones. But I sort of hear that in the high output full size ones, too.
