I believe it's traditionally a bridge pickup. However a lot of people try bridge pickups in necks position. I think the main thing would be to have a hotter pickup in the bridge.

DC Resistence on the custom V is 14.4 and the Invader is 16.8. I think you should be good. At the very least you've got my favorite bridge pickup ever! I have custom Vs in a bunch of my guitars.
