Favorite guitar and guitar company?

I don't have a favorite. I have guitars from several different manufacturers that I like. But when considering a purchase, the brand name is never my first consideration.

Gibson, G&L and Fender. US-made only.

i know there are other great guitars but I just prefer fixed bridges and old school trademark bodies. Plek is a huge differentiator too.

Yep, so many acoustics play like absolute garbage in comparison. I've played plenty of very expensive Martins and Gibsons that left me wondering how they left the factory playing the way they did. I've not played a Collings or some of the other acclaimed boutique acoustic guitars, but for the "somewhat-within-the-reach-of-most-players" cost territory, I've not found anything that comes anywhere close.

Martins come from the factory ready to be setup to the preferences of the player. The consistency of Taylor is amazing. When it comes down to it, nothing else sounds like a Martin, and I feel lucky to have a great one. I totally get how people love Taylor’s, some day I’d love to have one too. Hopefully a K24ce.

Of course I have to add Steinberger for their innovations, but not for their current offerings. Acoustic-wise, I will go for Adamas, which is the carbon fiber Ovation.

I like too many brands of guitars to have an overall favorite.
But if the house was burning down the only thing I'd grab is my Eastman AR-810 archtop.

Which model do you have? I have 4...lol.

Of my guitars, the Schecter is actually the cheapest: an entry-level Omen Extreme S-II (tobacco sunburst) that I bought new for $400 a few years ago. Currently it's in D standard with Nazgul/Sentient pickups and handling all my new Sepultura, Megadeth, and Exodus needs. I've always been shocked at how well it plays and feels for the price point. No fret sprout, no sharp ends, holds tune really well, neck feels great, no problems with any of the electronics. Just great quality for the price.

Every time I buy a guitar, I invariably have Schecters in the mix. In fact, the next one will probably be a Schecter. I covet the older Banshee in Cat's Eye Pearl (with passives), the Solo II Custom, and the Nick Johnson Traditional series, which gives a lot of bang for the buck.

The Les Paul is my favorite guitar. But Gibson is my most hated company. In fact, I'm a fan of very few of the companies period.

I think PRS, as a business, gets it right.

Funny, I'd agree that PRS does it right -yet I wouldn't play their lame but high quality and innovative guitars if you paid me.

Also conflicted.

Aren't most of our problems in life ME problems? ;)

SO true, it's hard to get out of your own head for sure.

Our outlook and attitude defines most of our life.... we all can choose awesome and believe it -even though there will always be an element of self deception.

Only so maybe heartbeats left -make it awesome!

My 2017 Kiesel DC.The closest thing to absolute perfection in fit finish workmanship and fretwork i have ever seen in a guitar by any builder at any price. Plays and sounds as good as it looks.
Been playing Carvin Kiesel guitars since the late 1980's and always seem to come back to them.

Yeah, I'm really smitten with their Koa guitars, but man are they pricey. I just spec'd out a no frills 12-fret grand concert in Koa yesterday, as I was hoping it'd be cheaper than the K22e models you occasionally see for sale that have electronics and that ornate fretboard inlay, neither of which I really care for. Perhaps unsurprisingly, I was wrong...
