Favorite non-Fender 6v6 amp?

I'm interested in a non-Fender 6v6 amp, and am curious to what types are out there.

Has anyone a favorite?

Mission Aurora 18-Watt. It's gotta little bit of Fender, a little Vox, a little Marshall all rolled up in to one amp. I've been wanting one since earlier this year.

Edit: There's also a new 22-watt with reverb.

Great suggestion Erik! (How you doing buddy? It's been a while!)

The other amp I would mention is an oldie but a goodie: the 50's Gibson GA-20.

Here's one I just found on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Gibson-...yZ118983QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

With these amps, if you plug into the guitar input you'll get a cleanish tone...but I plug into the Microphone input on mine for alot more gain, and I'll tell you: IT SCREAMS. Killer overdriven tones with even more saturation than a cranked Fender Tweed Deluxe. Mine has the original Jensen P12R alnico blue speaker in it. Some have a Jensen P12Q but mine came with the P12R.

I'm doing good, bud. It has been a while. I'll have to shoot you an email here soon just to chat.

If my Marshall didn't die on me, I'd probably be getting the Aurora this year but it may be a while longer. I still want one.

I always liked the 50's/60's Gibson and Epiphone amps with the 6V6's---GA20, Falcon, Discoverer, et al. Some of those preamp tubes they used are getting scarce, tho (6EU7, 6SC7, etc). Ampeg is another contender with some of the early 60's models. The Jim Kelly amp (4x6V6, FACS?) sounded pretty good for a more modern take...plenty of boutique stuff with 6V6's too...

If you can find a vintage Traynor Bassmate with 6v6 tubes, you will have one of the best sounding low watters ever made. Itty bitty Plexi head.

My buddy has a 63' Magnatone w/t 6V6's. One of the sweetest sounding amps I've heard. Sounds like a BF deluxe that has Been dipped in syrup.

Re: Favorite non-Fender 6v6 amp?

one more vote for the Blue Angel- why settle for just 6v6s when you can add EL84s too? Amazing, loud amp.

Re: Favorite non-Fender 6v6 amp?

Plus 1 for the Blue Angel.

But the finest 6v6 non-fender I've played is the Victoria Tweed Deluxe clone. I liked it so much that I've ordered it's bigger brother, the Double Deluxe.
