Favorite Oddball Guitar

I own this Oddball guitar.

My ‘77 Gibson walnut RD Custom

Only Gibson could think that there is ANYTHING (other than the headstock) about that guitar that is worth the time to make it!

One of the most horrid guitars I've ever seen!! Even just the color scheme...walnut colored body, beige fretboard, black headstock, and chrome hardware!

Don’t be a hater Doc.

Remember you have patients that count on you, and this makes you look very bad.

Learn to see the good in all guitars, and you’ll be a happier and not so petty dude.

definitely like that better, but still really want a rw board. gloss black with lp custom appointments might be really sweet actually

What's your favorite guitar that would be completely forgivable for an intermediate guitar player not to recognize?

I like the Ernie Ball Stingray (also dig the bass, but it's a bit more recognizable)

I also like the G&L F100

And to round it out, the PRS Vela

I love the look of all three of those, especially the Vela. I really love the Mira as well.

I recently played a Taylor semi-hollowbody with two humbuckers and a TOM bridge and tailpiece at a shop in NH. If I had the money it would have come home with me. Great sounds and a super smooth player.

I have played their T5 before, and even though I liked the sound through a PA, it was so neck heavy that it was uncomfortable. The Fender Acoustasonics have the same problem.

Thanks for the advice. I'll take it to heart. But the problems with that guitar are NOT "petty"...they're pretty major. Pointing them out, therefore, is not petty.

I'm not a "hater" per se. But if a guitar is ugly, it's ugly. I make high-end custom guitars and I'm very aware of what woods/colors look good together....that walnut colored body, tinted maple neck, and black headstock do NOT go together!

I actually DO see the good...I even commented that the headstock was ok. That guitar may even play and sound fantastic, but I don't know about that so I can't comment on that. I do see how ugly it is, so I can comment on that and I can give my opinion about what makes it ugly, which is what I did.

Time to take the rose-colored glasses off.

It would be pretty immature and ignorant to think that everything is good.

Just my opinion. You have yours, which is also fine.
