Favorite reverb pedals

Re: Favorite reverb pedals

That thing looks nuts haha. Ill look into it

The spring reverb is awesome as is the hall and plate. There are also so some more dramatic effects that you can dial up. The biggest advantage is it is a multi tap reverb. Instead of getting a single tone bouncing back, you can dial it in to sound like an echo in a canyon.

Re: Favorite reverb pedals

You may want to do some comparison shopping with the biyang...uhm, blue one. Its got spring, room, and hall settings and people seem to think they're major bang for the buck.

Re: Favorite reverb pedals

I've got the Neunaber stereo Wet. After having owned the Verbzilla, the BlueSky, and the Space, I now feel I have something I will not easily swap out.

Re: Favorite reverb pedals

I probably did not use reverb for over 20 years. I used mostly older Marshalls, and tweeds. I picked up a Hermida reverb 2. I works great even with my tweed amp.

Re: Favorite reverb pedals

The Earthquaker Devices Ghost Echo only has one sound - sort of a cross between a room and a plate - but it's a great sound. It's my favorite.

Re: Favorite reverb pedals

For simple basic verb, I don't think you beat this. Earthy, organic, gritty, real...(not to mention loved by serious verb connoisseurs like me & Tervorus). Pick a style, turn the knob. The tone is just fantastic period. And the Flerb is a cool little touch too for that little something extra. This box does not sound like a digital verb at all.

If you want the tone and a touch more control, they offer this.

However, this has a HUGE following. Can't argue. If it's lot's of verbs and adjustments you seek,,,,

Of late, these seem to be popular in the Swiss Army Reverb category.

I personally am attracted to this over the Zilla or HOF for no particulalr reason.

Or, for the minimalist, might I suggest this.

And, if we MUST go with tried and true Boss, while the RV-5 is nice, Isuggest this instead.

And, for the Kabala of all Reverb - apologies to the Fender Gods - this is WAY out of the ballpark. This is a whole other dimension of tube driven angelic heavenly awesome decay and throb.

^^^IIRC, The Hardwire's algorithms are derived from Lexicon.

More and more these days, a light plate simulation hits the spot. Almost dry. I like to call it 'perspiration'. :)

Re: Favorite reverb pedals

The Lee Jackson 'Mr. Springgy' is pretty nice if you want a single purpose reverb.

Plate is CRITICAL for early VH.

Re: Favorite reverb pedals

Boss ME-70 is what I use right now. The reverb is good enough. But I am spoiled: I have a '72 Twin Reverb that has analog spring reverb.

You 'inspired' me to pull out my old Lexicon MPX-1. It was a B**** to get going, but what a great sounding reverb just from the presets (and it does much more when you learn how to program it).

Re: Favorite reverb pedals

I used a Space for a while, but flipped it for a Strymon Big Sky and am very happy with it. The Eventide messed with my base tone too much, the Strymon's analog dry-through might be my favorite feature. If I need a smaller enclosure I'd probably go with the Hall of Fame.

How's the Big Sky? Did I miss your NPD?

Re: Favorite reverb pedals

The Wampler Faux Reverb sounds quite impressive IMO. Was made to sound like a fender reverb unit….
