Fender American Vintage 56 Pups

Welcome to the forum!

My guess is that it is the same as current Fenders. But that is just a guess. What do you want to replace it with?

Hey, thanks. I have found the info thanks to SD support. I guess those old format pages on the web aren’t so great on the phone. I rarely try to do simple searches with a computer anymore, they sent me a link to a page I’ve been on before, but missed it. I was thinking of doing the SSL5, but I have some aged antiquities already, the Texas hot ones. May try the bridge. I’m a bit torn on the trem setup in this guitar. I put a spacer in the string guide so it works better, but I’ve had the trem locked down before this (no block just springs) and honestly I liked it a bit better that way…but it’s a strat! I am not a big Clapton fan, but I see why he did it with the older 50s pups. I guess one in his blackie was from the 70s, I just don’t know which one. It could have been the middle for noise canceling, I think Fender had switched polarity then? Or it may have been the standard bridge replacement I’m thinking of doing. I’m a big Gilmour fan so my first thought was a SSL5.

An SSL5 is a great choice but is likely out of phase with your Fenders, so make sure you flip the hot and ground on the SD.
