Re: Fender hot rod deluxe problem VIDEO please help2

I just purchased one myself and praised it. Now, 3 days later, I am already disliking it more and more. The clean channel is comparable to that of more expensive models when it is played at lower volumes. However, when at 3 or higher, it breaks up in a cool, yet undesirable way. I want that definitive fender chime, but lose it at moderate to higher volume. I am willing to try new tubes and a new speaker before I ditch it, but I hate that I have only had it for 3 days and already grown weary of it!

Sorry i can't help with the problem, but I thought you might like to know that you arent alone in your frustrations with the Deluxe!

....one of the following (if not both) resistors R57 (82k) and R58 (100k) are shot!....as much as I would love to tell you this is an isolated incident....it's not.....almost all of the newer Fender's are going through the PI plate resistors at an alarming rate....
These are just my findings as a tech only...and based upon your descriptions...(the video was a cool idea..btw!)

How much that helped, i have no idea.....
