Fender Japan; Thoughts After a Setup

Re: Fender Japan; Thoughts After a Setup

Price....but before you go out on a triade there ;)
An old ESP 400 is not made the same as an ESP Navigator, the wood and hardware are different.
Quality wood takes time, while the cheaper kind gets fast dried, maybe cut from a less desireable place on the tree trunk, not talking about looks or that, but where the grain is known to yield good resonant pieces.

Great, now i'm concerned. I am planning to possibly get a MIJ Richie Kotzen tele next month. It's down to that or an American Standard or Elite Tele. I've never heard a Kotzen tele owner speak ill of the craftsmanship, though.

My ESP Eclipse is MIJ and i've loved the thing over the 7 or so years i've had it, and the build quality and feel was noticeably above the MIK LTD EC1000 i'd had before that.

I wouldn't be concerned. I still believe MIJs are superior to even US made. The OP's experience is is probably one of those 'special cases'.
